Reed Accountancy have recently partnered up with a leading business in Liverpool who is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and managing accounts payable and receivable as well as dealing with the payroll for the business.

This role has the potential in the future to become the next FD for the business and is looking for someone with a passion for progression within their career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions.
  • Prepare financial reports and statements.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Support the preparation of tax returns.
  • Handle payroll processing (advantageous).
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage).
  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing is an advantage.

Education:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AAT, ACCA) are a plus.
