A well-established SME in Knowsley are seeking a Machine Operator to join their team. On offer is an hourly rate of 14.19 and hours are full-time Monday to Friday on days. This role is offered on an ongoing temporary basis so please only apply if you are seeking a temporary role with potential for permanent. Full training is also offered in this position.

Daily Duties:

  • Set and operate manual turning lathes, manual milling machines, fly presses.
  • Generalised use of pillar drill, band saw and chop saw.
  • Reading and working from engineering drawings.
  • Complete documentation, quality plans, workshop instructions and inspection records when required.
  • Ensure all pre-safety checks are completed, and all equipment and guarding in the Machine Shop is maintained.
  • Liaise with Engineers and Supervisors to ensure machines and equipment are repaired and serviced.
  • Keep machine and work area clean and ensuring tools and equipment returned after use.

Requirements:

  • Time-served and relevant engineering qualification.
  • Previous experience within a machine shop environment.
  • Previous manual milling and turning experience is essential.
