- Operate manual turning lathes (primary focus of the role).
- Set up and operate manual milling machines and fly presses.
- Utilize pillar drills, band saws, and chop saws for general machining tasks.
- Read and work from engineering drawings to produce components to specification.
- Complete necessary documentation, including quality plans, workshop instructions, and inspection records.
- Conduct pre-safety checks and ensure all equipment, particularly manual turning lathes, is safe and well-maintained.
- Work closely with Engineers and Supervisors to arrange for repairs and servicing of machines.
- Maintain a clean and organized machine area, ensuring tools and equipment are returned after use.
- Essential: Proven experience with manual turning lathes.
- Time-served with a relevant engineering qualification.
- Previous experience in a machine shop environment, specifically with manual turning lathes.
- Additional experience with manual milling and turning operations is beneficial.
