The successful candidate will be responsible for performing general building maintenance tasks, including painting, cleaning, and ensuring the work environment remains safe and functional. The Maintenance Operative will also assist in identifying and reporting any necessary technical repairs to the appropriate personnel.Responsibilities:
  • Perform painting tasks on both interior and exterior surfaces as required.
  • Carry out touch-ups and basic repairs to walls, floors, doors, and other surfaces.
  • Inspect building areas regularly to identify any maintenance needs.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and are well-maintained.
  • Perform regular cleaning of workspaces, common areas, and outdoor surroundings.
  • Ensure all cleaning duties are carried out according to established standards.
  • Remove waste and debris from work areas to maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe work environment by complying with safety procedures and regulations.
  • Report any hazardous or unsafe conditions to the management team promptly.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning, painting, and repair supplies.
  • Report low stock levels and assist with replenishment when necessary.
  • Identify and report any technical or larger-scale maintenance repairs to the appropriate staff members.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed tasks and work orders as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Previous experience in general labour, building maintenance, or a similar role.
  • Basic knowledge of painting, building repair, and cleaning techniques.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
  • Good physical condition with the ability to lift and move heavy objects when needed.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to report maintenance issues effectively.
