Location: Knowsley, Liverpool (Hybrid working after a short probation period; living location must be commutable to Liverpool). Prestigious, purpose-built offices near Junction 6 of the M62 motorway.

Morgan Ryder is expanding its sales team and is looking to recruit a Veteran Business Development Executive for our Defence Division.

This part of our business provides recruitment services to world-class manufacturing & engineering businesses globally, specifically customers that manufacture products, components, and systems such as aircraft, marine vessels, tanks & land vehicles, firearms & weapon systems, communication, optics and surveillance equipment, protective & tactical equipment.


The talent you will help your customers attract and recruit will span qualified professionals up to C-Level board members, across departments such as Operations, Programmes, Commercial, Human Resources, Finance, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, IT, Health & Safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use our leading cloud-based CRM system to maintain communication with key clients, develop an in-depth understanding of their business, and identify new opportunities.
  • Identify and target potential defence manufacturing clients through market research, networking, referrals, and strategic outreach.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and key influencers within defence manufacturing organisations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customised proposals, presentations, and tailored solutions.
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions, ensuring client satisfaction and alignment with company goals.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of business activity to generate required revenue levels.
  • Deliver multi-channel communications through phone, email, video calls, and face-to-face meetings.


Requirements:

  • Ideally, an armed forces veteran with sales experience or a sales professional with a strong understanding of defence equipment and technologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and a talent for developing innovative solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software is essential.
