Analytical Chemist - 6 month contract, for a pioneering biotech organisation, which is helping to overcome environmental and sustainability issues.

Company:Biotechnology organisation which is helping to supply essential nutrients to the food, pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, in a sustainable way, using cutting edge technology.

Hours of work:8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (there maybe some flexibility in this, if required)

Location: Merseyside

NB - own transport is preferred due to location.

Duration:6 month contract (could be extended or made permanent)

Salary:Upto 30k per annum. (depending on your skills and experience)

You will be involved in:

  • Testing of raw, in-process and final materials to ensure timely release of products.
  • Use of analytical GC, GC-FID, NIR and wet chemistry techniques (specifically titrations).
  • Advise the plant of any OOT/OOS results to ensure batches are being made correctly.
  • Write reports on the analysis carried out for CofAs.
  • Ensure that the testing done is carried out to the required standard (ISO, GMP, HACCP).

What do you need to be considered?

You will need:

  • Working knowledge of Gas Chromatography (GC or GC-FID), NIR instrumentation and general wet chemistry techniques.
  • Previous experience working in an accredited laboratory to one of the following standards: UKAS, GMP, GLP, MHRA, FDA ISO9001 etc.
  • Science qualification (to degree level ideally) within Chemistry, Biochemistry or related.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
