Information Governance Lead – Temporary role – approx. 10 weeks, potential for extension or permanent opportunity.
We are currently recruiting for a large public sector organisation who require an experienced Information Governance lead to assist temporarily to manage information and deliver compliance legislation.
You will be the lead on all records management, data protection and provide guidance and advice regarding all information security and data security processes.
- Coordination of any subject access requests.
- Assessing current record management, putting practices in place, relevant training and guidance.
- Promoting the importance of GDR practices and reporting data breaches.
- Support and promote Data protection assessments.
- Investigate any data breaches and work with other stakeholders, senior management, IT etc.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of all official guidance laws, changes in GDPR and all other relevant legislation.
- Working with managers to identify areas in need of improvement.
- Maintain centralised records, in line with current legislation.
- Be the Data protection champion.
- Design and implement any relevant training.
- All other areas of governance and compliance required.
As this role is temporary and will be focusing mainly on the records management aspect of the role, we must place someone very experienced within Information Governance, so we can only put forward someone with this experience.
Ideally you will come from a highly regulated or public sector background though this isn’t essential.
Strong working knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR and Caldicott principles.
Knowledge of the Data Protection and Security Toolkit or previous Information governance Toolkit.
Experience of training and presenting to others, strong IT skills and we do also require a driver with own car as you will be visiting some other offices.
Working from home – but with some travel and office attendance – approx. 3 to 4 per month.
£19.40ph plus holiday pay.
Monday to Friday – 9am-5pm.
