With schools based across Merseyside, Lancashire and Greater Manchester, the trust currently has 13 schools and therefore is continuously delivering on new trust wide projects. The trust IT Manager will become an integral part of the IT team where you will have the opportunity to further develop and grow your role. Your new roleReporting to the Trust IT Director, your role will involve project management, IT leadership and also technical support. From a leadership perspective, you will oversee the infrastructure of 4 educational sites, also managing a team of 4 IT Engineers who are based across the primary and secondary sites. This will involve ensuring that the IT Engineers are performing in line with role requirements, ensuring that projects are delivered supported by the engineers and performing regular 121's and reviews in line with company policy. From a project management perspective, this will probably form 50% of the role as the trust are standardising all infrastructure and therefore currently delivering projects such as migration projects, cyber projects, new sign in system and various others as they work to a modern and enhanced IT infrastructure. From a technical perspective, you will be overseeing the infrastructure across all 4 sites with the support of the IT Engineers and the IT Director. This will involve providing technical support with hardware, software and bespoke educational technologies and systems, including AV equipment. As IT Manager, you will also be working closely with leadership and academic staff on site, ensuring they are kept up to date on system advancements and updates, advising on how the improvements will overall enhance teaching and learning and ensuring users are trained correctly by the IT team. This is an exciting role for an established IT Manager from the education sector to move into a leadership role where they will be exposed to new projects and have the opportunity to further develop their career. What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful in securing this position, you must have significant IT management experience in the education sector, having previously worked in either a school, trust or college. Experience of leading and managing a technical IT team is essential, having previously been responsible for carrying out reviews and development plans and having a passion for developing other IT engineers. You will also have experience of delivering on IT projects, as well as still have strong technical knowledge. The IT Director is keen to appoint an individual who has a real passion for providing a high level of IT support, who has strong communication skills and who is a dedicated IT professional looking to become an integral part of the wider IT team.
