Our client currently have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Project Manager to join their business.

About the role:You will work a part of an Mechanical & Electrical Team under the direction of the companies Head of Electrical Services, who joined the business in the same position you would be applying for.

The position is available due to an increase in work, which needs you to manage multiple commercial projects such as hotels, hospitals and HMPs with a value of £4-£15 million.

These projects include refurbishment, maintenance and installation works on LED lighting, switchgear upgrades, EV Charging points and partnerships with other companies.

Annually reviews to help with progression an development.


About the company: The company are unique in their offer of fully integrated end to end design, plan and build solutions. They are able to utilise considerable expertise acquired over 30 years working across Europe & Africa. They are an established national organisation, with contracts covering the UK and Ireland. They are a contractor for the provision of Mechanical, Electrical and Telecommunication services. Their M&E Department is responsible for the supply, maintenance, and servicing of all planned and reactive maintenance on client buildings, predominantly based in the Merseyside area and the North-West region.

About the role: The Project Manager will, under the direction of the Head of Electrical Services, be responsible for the control of their designated Project or assigned tasks/duties. Responsibilities will include control and documentation relating to the designated project, close monitoring of the commercial aspect of any allocated project, ensuring compliance with all HSQE legislation, internal policies and procedures relating to safe and efficient delivery of the project. In liaison with Departmental Managers, be responsible for ensuring that all documentation, services, and processes are completed in line with the needs of the business. To motivate and inspire company employees in the division and promote and enforce a safe working environment as per the companies world-class standards.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

Site survey of potential M&E Projects, including layout design, quotation, and Client Liaison.

Management of day-to-day project delivery, including delivery to client requirements, safety, quality, supplier performance and improvement.

Project cost procurement, analysis, appraisal, and budgeting

Produce & submit application for payment/invoice documents where required.

Ensuring that programmes are agreed between the client and the contractor prior to each project commencing, updated as required and that key deadlines are met.

Communicating with clients and colleagues, engaging with specialist consultants as required.

Monitoring working practices, managing contractors and reporting lack of compliance to your line manager.

Manage a portfolio of approved M&E contractors through the lifecycle of a project.

Supervise and direct overall project activities including planning and coordinating, circumventing/resolving problem areas, ensuring all company/project policies, procedures and standards are maintained, etc.

Maintain all change order, submittal, and document (drawing) control logs. Prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings

Ensure accidents, incidents and near misses, quality failures and service deterioration trends are investigated competently, and corrective action is taken where and when appropriate.

Through a close working relationship with commercial aspects of any given project, identify at the earliest opportunity risks to delivering the budget, supplier and/ or overhead cost impacting upon the project.

Manage the operational relationship with all suppliers and have monitoring in place to ensure that the companies standards are adhered to and met.

Manage staff, oversee work schedules, and assign specific duties accordingly.

Carry out regular audits of staff performance and quality of work to ensure the highest standard of service and workmanship is being achieved.

Communicate closely and provide timely and accurate periodical reports to Head of Electrical Services defining project progress, problems, and solutions

Assessing designs received from client including any walkouts with client supervisor.

Overall responsibility for all site works, methodology and programme.

Recognised Building Services Qualification

18th Edition Wiring Regulations

Previous experience of management on M&E Projects

Financial acumen cost management, budget, P&L responsibilities

Microsoft Project


Experience: Electrical Project Management 2-3 years (preferred)
