PP Associates are currently supporting an owner-managed consultancy who will be doubling in size over the next 5 years. There is a clear plan for organic growth, and they are now looking for a new Chartered Building Surveyor or Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join their team.

As Chartered Building Surveyor, you will be fully client facing and enjoy a wide scope of responsibilities. Your focus will be all design and contract administration of refurbishment, renewal building projects, extension, and new build. Your working area will in the North West and Yorkshire.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Guiding architectural design engineers in producing precise AutoCAD drawings
  • Overseeing project procurement across all RIBA work stages
  • Conducting feasibility studies and analysing budgets to advise clients on project requirements and schemes
  • Creating comprehensive scheme designs, including cost estimates, project timelines, and detailed work specifications
  • Developing tender documents and providing guidance on contractor selection, design teams, and procurement methods
  • Administering contracts effectively throughout the project lifecycle ensuring they are managed efficiently to meet budgetary constraints and deadlines
  • Performing detailed surveys to assess the condition of buildings, identify defects, and recommend repair solutions
  • Obtaining capital funding from various agencies
  • Advising on the management and execution of building maintenance, including creating preventive maintenance schedules
  • Executing party wall procedures for both building owners and adjoining property owners

What you need to have:

  • MRICS or MCIOB qualification
  • Demonstrable experience in a property consultancy providing design and contract administration services
  • Proven track record of handling responsibilities in the specified areas, particularly in delivering services to the public sector, with a preference for experience in the education sector
  • Comprehensive expertise in all aspects of building surveying
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective interaction with clients and team members
