Salary: From £40,000 - DOE

A Principal Rail Surveyor is required to join a surveying company based in Merseyside on a permanent basis. You will be required to carry out topographical surveys on Network Rail infrastructure for permanent way, switches and crossings and drainage using a range of techniques such as laser scanning and Total Station. As part of the role, you will also carry out gauging surveys using laser sweep to produce accurate profiles of platforms. As the Principal Surveyor you will be involved in track and structural monitoring by installing various technologies and methods to track and assess the condition of structures and p-way over time.

The Principal Surveyor will have extensive background in undertaking multidiscipline surveys on Network Rail infrastructure and will be proficient at creating as-built models, laser data scanning, track surveys and gauging using a range of techniques and equipment such as GPS, Trimble Total Stations, Trimble Scanners, Trimble Gedo System and Laser sweep. The successful candidate will be flexible to work nights and weekends as there is a requirement to work 2 in 4 weekends (depending on workload). You will also have a full UK driving license as the role requires you to drive to sites across the northwest.
