Are you an experienced Electrical or Civils Estimator?
My client a main contractor are looking for a Senior Electrical/Civils Estimator to work within their Net Zero - Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging business for Clients across the UK.
- Location: Liverpool
- Rate: up to £500 per day
- Contract - 12 months
As a Senior Electrical/Civils Estimator you will be part of our EV Business who are responsible for the Design & Delivery of EV Charging, Solar and Battery storage installations as one-off projects and within long term framework agreements with several key Charge Point Operators.
They are looking to build on the existing team to take advantage of the extensive opportunities within the EV sector that will result from not only "business as usual" work activities, but also additional works that will result from the journey to Net Zero.
Responsibilities
- Assess bid opportunities, conducting bid/no-bid reviews based on project data and client criteria.
- Evaluate project risks and potential issues.
- Review tender documentation to determine project technical requirements.
- Prepare overall project cost estimates based on client specifications and technical needs.
- Determine Electrical/Civils Bill of Quantities (BoQ) for pricing.
- Assist with technical and estimating elements in tender preparation, working with procurement and commercial teams.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations.
- Evaluate and price project options and alternatives.
- Complete all company procedure documents and financial information for governance before tender submission.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of tenders.
- Participate in post-tender presentations and client meetings.
- Produce formal handover documentation for accepted projects.
- Support completion and review of company procedure documents and financial information.
- Participate in project peer reviews within the estimating team.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient delivery of targets.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Background in electrical, ICP, or civil estimating.
- Extensive experience in delivering capital projects.
- Understanding of electrical infrastructure construction, operation, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of National Grid and DNO Standards.
- Experience in building up rates from first principles.
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and influence change.
- Strong commercial acumen with knowledge of various contract forms.
- Understanding of construction project planning and sequencing.
