The Principal Designer's Role
The successful Principal Designer will join a dynamic team within this charitable architecture firm, playing a crucial role in managing and overseeing a variety of projects. The Principal Designer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, providing comprehensive design risk management, and delivering high-quality services across multiple phases of the projects.
Responsibilities of the Principal Designer
- Provide the full scope of Principal Designer services, including compiling pre-construction information, managing design risk assessments, and ensuring CDM compliance.
- Work closely with design teams and clients to develop and implement effective safety and design strategies.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure ongoing compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Lead CDM workshops and provide training to design teams on best practices in risk management and safety.
- Review and approve construction phase plans, ensuring all safety measures are in place and adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
The Principal Designer
- Degree qualified in Architecture, Construction, or Engineering.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- Membership with IOSH or APS.
- Extensive experience in delivering Principal Designer services within a consultancy or architectural practice.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with various stakeholders.
