A leading CDM, Principal Design and BSA specialist consultancy, with multiple office locations across the UK, is seeking an experienced Principal Designer to join their North West team.

Renowned for their expertise in CDM and health and safety services, this consultancy provides comprehensive solutions across a range of sectors, including residential, commercial, education, and healthcare.

The Principal Designer Role

As the Principal Designer, you will be responsible for managing design risk and ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 regulations across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working closely with clients, architects, and contractors, you will provide expert guidance throughout the design and construction phases. With the backing of a dedicated and supportive team, this role offers the chance to contribute to some of the most exciting projects in the region.

Principal Designer Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Principal Designer duties in accordance with CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Prepare and review pre-construction information and construction phase plans.
  • Provide CDM and health and safety advice to clients, architects, and contractors.
  • Attend client meetings, site inspections, and audits to monitor compliance.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to deliver consistent and high-quality services.
  • Mentor junior team members and support their development within the consultancy.

The Principal Designer

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Professional accreditation from APS (AaPS, IMaPS, or CMaPS) is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience as a Principal Designer within the construction industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under deadlines.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach to working with clients and colleagues.
