Job Summary:

Our client are seeking an experienced and dynamic Contract Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of contracts within our roofing division. The ideal candidate will possess excellent project management, budgeting, and contract negotiation skills, alongside an in-depth knowledge of roofing systems and Health & Safety standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring costs, ensuring profitability, preparing Health and Safety documentation, and ensuring smooth coordination between clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess costs, as well as overall budget performance for all contracts, ensuring projects stay within scope and financial targets.
  • Oversee the preparation and monitoring of project costs at the handover stage, ensuring that all aspects of the project are tracked and controlled.
  • Attend internal contract meetings to review the status and ensure proper coordination and communication across the team.
  • Negotiate with suppliers, sub-contractors, and service providers to secure the best value for services and materials.
  • Ensure agreed service centre margins and profitability targets are met by driving efficiency and cost-effective operations.
  • Prepare and manage Health and Safety documentation in line with WPA arrangements, ensuring that contracts are completed safely and that WPA standards are adhered to.
  • Ensure service reviews are being conducted by Operatives and Contracts Supervisors, maintaining high service standards and quality control.
  • Utilize the WPA portal for accurate recording of site activity, progress, and documentation, ensuring real-time project tracking and reporting.
  • Foster positive relationships and effective communication with client representatives to maintain client satisfaction and ensure project success.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualified.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of roofing systems and practices across various roofing applications.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a deep understanding of budgets, cost control, and project delivery.
  • Proven experience in contract management, including overseeing multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Proficient in using various systems, software, and materials related to roofing projects.
  • A strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations, including site set-up and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, including clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • SMSTS Certification required.
  • Proven track record of managing contracts within the roofing industry.
