We now have a new and exciting opportunity to welcome a Credit Controller within our Accounts Teams.


Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Credit Controller to join our dynamic property management team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and collecting outstanding rent and service charges, ensuring our cash flow remains healthy. You will work closely with both the Lettings and Block Management accounts departments, acting as the central point of contact for all credit control matters.


Duties will include:

Collection Management

  • Proactively manage and collect unpaid rent and service charges.
  • Implement effective collection strategies to reduce arrears.
  • Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and initiate appropriate actions.

Communication

  • Liaise with tenants, leaseholders, and property owners to resolve payment issues.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Lettings and Block Management teams to ensure cohesive credit control processes.
  • Issue timely and accurate reminders, final notices, and legal warnings.

Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions.
  • Provide regular reports on arrears, highlighting potential risks and suggesting solutions.
  • Update Management on collection activities and progress.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding debt collection.
  • Stay updated on changes in property management and credit control legislation.

Customer Service

  • Handle queries and disputes professionally, aiming for swift resolution.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with tenants and leaseholders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller, preferably within the property management sector.
  • Strong understanding of credit control processes and debt collection laws in the UK
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Proficiency in using property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • A proactive and assertive approach to handling arrears
  • Knowledge of the legal processes related to rent and service charge collection.
