We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Targeted Services Officer to join our clients established team in Liverpool. The role is focused on supporting young people who are at risk of offending, experiencing poor life chances, or involved in the criminal justice system. You will work with young offenders, their families, and local communities to create positive outcomes, providing a range of services to ensure young people are supported and empowered.
- 20.00 LTD per hour inclusive of holiday pay
- 35 hours per week
- 3 month initial contract with possibility of extension after this
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and work with young people in various settings, aiming to reduce the risk of offending and harm to others.
- Develop and deliver individual and group programmes to support young people's personal and social development.
- Ensure that the views and needs of young people are central to the services provided by Targeted Services.
- Maintain accurate records of all work with young people, using the electronic recording system as required.
- Collaborate with statutory and voluntary partners to offer positive opportunities for young people.
- Advocate for young people in multiple settings, representing their interests and needs.
- Support families to address areas of concern and help integrate them into mainstream services.
- Promote equality and non-discriminatory practices in all activities and interactions.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Graduate or similar level qualification in an area related to working with young people or offenders.
- Experience:
- Experience working with young people and their families.
- Experience in case management and delivering group/individual programmes.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to service development.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of safeguarding and risk management for young people.
- Knowledge and experience of applying Liverpool City Council's Child Protection procedures.
- Strong communication, listening, and assessment skills.
- Ability to engage with young people, including those displaying challenging behaviour.
- Other Requirements:
