Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our Year 6 class starting in January 2025. The successful candidate will work closely with a child on an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who is currently learning at a Year 3 curriculum level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to the child, ensuring their specific learning needs are met.

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of personalised learning activities.

  • Work closely with the classroom teacher and SEND coordinator to implement the child's EHCP.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Monitor and record the child's progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.

  • Support the child's social and emotional development through positive interactions and activities.

  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to the child's education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children on EHCPs is essential.

  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are preferred.

  • Strong understanding of the Year 3 curriculum and strategies to support learning at this level.
