We're seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a child who requires additional support with challenging behavior. Based in a welcoming and inclusive school in the heart of Liverpool's L18 area, this role is perfect for someone who is passionate about making a difference and skilled in supporting pupils to thrive.

• Experience in schools supporting children with challenging behavior, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), or other Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Exceptional patience, resilience, and empathy to build trust and rapport with pupils.
• A calm and consistent approach, even in high-pressure situations.
• Proactive problem-solving skills to adapt to a variety of needs and scenarios.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals.

• Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil, fostering emotional safety and confidence.
• Implementing effective behavior management techniques tailored to the child's needs.
• Using de-escalation strategies to diffuse challenging situations calmly and constructively.
• Encouraging positive behaviors through reward systems and consistent routines.
• Supporting the pupil's social, emotional, and academic development with personalized interventions.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a child with challenging behavior, you'll:

• Provide tailored support to help the pupil engage positively with learning and the school environment.
• Implement strategies and interventions designed to promote emotional regulation and positive behavior.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to create and follow an individualized support plan.
• Offer encouragement and celebrate achievements to boost confidence and self-esteem.
• Help the pupil develop social skills and resilience, preparing them for future success.
