Early Years Teaching Assistant - 1:1 RoleYour new companyYou will be joining a small primary school in South Liverpool that is committed to providing a safe and stimulating environment for all its children. The primary school follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and has a high-quality curriculum that supports the children's development and learning. The primary school is rated Outstanding by Ofsted and has a caring and professional staff team.Your new roleAs an early years teaching assistant, you will be working 1:1 with a child who has autism spectrum disorder (ASD). You will be responsible for assisting the child's communication, social skills, and emotional regulation in and out of the primary school. You will work closely with the primary school manager and the SENCO to plan and deliver personalised and fun activities that meet the child's needs and goals. You will also communicate with the child's parents and external agencies to ensure the child's progress and well-being.What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • A relevant qualification in teaching assistant, childcare, or education (e.g. NVQ, CACHE, BTEC, etc.)
  • Experience of working with children with ASD, preferably in an early years setting
  • Knowledge of the EYFS and the SEN code of practice
  • Skills in communication, literacy, numeracy, and ICT
  • Attributes such as patience, empathy, creativity, and flexibility
