SEND Teaching Assistant - Ad Hoc/Supply Positions in Liverpool and Sefton

Location: Liverpool & SeftonPosition: SEND Teaching Assistant (Ad Hoc/Supply)Start Date: ASAPSalary: Competitive, depending on experience

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking dedicated and confident SEND Teaching Assistants to join our pool of staff for ad hoc and supply positions in SEND schools across the Liverpool and Sefton areas. This role offers the opportunity to work flexibly, providing support to children with additional needs on a part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support the classroom teacher with the delivery of lessons and activities.
  • Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Be a proactive member of the school team, working collaboratively with other staff and specialists.
  • Assist with personal care and other individual student needs as required.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 days per week availability.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs is essential.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to the needs of children with SEND.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A DBS check or willingness to undertake one (Tradewind can assist with this).
  • A relevant qualification in Special Education (such as a Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
