SEND Teaching Assistant - Full-Time, Long-Term - Bootle

Position: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Bootle

Contract: Full time, Long Term (Until October 2024, with the potential for extension)

Start Date: ASAP

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a fantastic SEND High School based in Bootle. This full-time role is available on a long-term basis, initially until October 2024 with the potential for continuation beyond that date.

About the Students:

The students in this SEND High School have all been diagnosed with ASD, and many have additional learning needs. This requires an individual who is patient, empathetic and committed to helping these students thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and associated learning needs
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering quality education
  • Helping students develop their social, emotional and academic skills
  • Providing 1:1 and group support during lessons and extracurricular activities
  • Attending meetings and continuous development sessions where required

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young adults with SEND
  • A passion for supporting the learning and development of students with ASD
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or a willingness to obtain one
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
