A manufacturing company specializing in engineering machinery in the Liverpool area is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer. This role involves designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components while working closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team (control, mechanical, and process). The position requires ensuring project timelines, budgets, and compliance with client specifications and industry regulations.



Electrical Design Engineer Job Overview



Design and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using Eplan 8 CAD software.



Analyze client requirements and deliver technical solutions that align with specifications.



Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including FDS, SDS, HDS, STS, HTS, parts lists, and FAT/IQ/OQ documentation, as needed.



Ensure all designs adhere to relevant safety standards and industry regulations, such as ATEX.



Assist with the preparation of technical proposals for sales.



Collaborate with mechanical, software, process engineers, and project managers to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into product designs.



Provide technical support during assembly, including testing and troubleshooting when necessary.



Occasionally support IQ/OQ processes at client locations.



Maintain knowledge of industry frameworks like GAMP5 and the V-Model.



Electrical Design Engineer Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (experience with Eplan 8 is highly desirable).
  • Solid understanding of electrical design principles.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic design (preferred but not required).


Electrical Design Engineer Salary & Benefits

  • Salary dependent on experience likely £40k-£45k
  • Mon - Thur - 7:30 - 4
  • Fri 7:30 - 1
  • Income protection & EAP (doctors app, mental health support & general wellbeing)
  • 25 days plus BH (we do operate a Christmas shutdown that uses 3 of these days)
  • 4% Employer & 4% employee - Legal & General
  • Hybrid Working (WFH Wed & Fri) plus early finish Friday
