Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

Great opportunity to join our client's team as an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, where you'll apply world-class maintenance techniques to ensure all plant and process equipment operates at peak efficiency. You'll maintain safety, environmental, food safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute repairs following instrument & electrical breakdowns using recognised problem-solving techniques.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks to expected standards.
  • Use the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to log faults, report potential defects, analyse fault information, and record hours and materials used.
  • Develop prioritised plans for maintenance activity, ensuring maintenance windows are fully utilised.
  • Create preventative maintenance instructions based on breakdown history and root-cause analysis.
  • Assist with mechanical breakdown activity and planned maintenance tasks, including fault diagnosis using computer software.
  • Use predictive maintenance techniques such as thermographic imaging, ultrasound, and vibration analysis to assess plant condition.
  • Ensure safety procedures are adhered to, carry out risk assessments and safety inspections, and contribute to improving and developing procedures.
  • Meet environmental objectives and work to minimise the operation's environmental impact.
  • Ensure all food safety and quality requirements are met, and work to continually improve food safety and quality systems, including internal audits and plant inspections.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards by following specific cleaning schedules and self-inspecting plant conditions.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation.
  • Help manage stores and spare part inventory.
  • Training will be provided to develop all necessary skills for safe and effective task execution.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Educated to "A" level / HNC standard in engineering subjects.
  • Must have experience.
  • Apprentice trained in instrumentation & electrical.
  • Good general health and average level of fitness due to manual handling requirements.
  • Ability to access all areas of the plant, including high levels with open floors, without vertigo or height-related restrictions.
