We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Analyst to join our team based in Huyton. This exciting opportunity is ideal for someone who is passionate about business analysis, forecasting, and reporting. In this role, you will play a key part in understanding and improving financial performance, supporting various business functions, and contributing to strategic planning.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Business Partnering (1 day per week): Collaborate with sales account managers to gather intelligence and forecasts from key clients (top 100 clients). Support the business by enhancing client volume forecasting and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Forecast Production (2 days per week): Use internal systems and processes to create accurate client volume forecasts that feed into business and network planning. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will drive continuous improvements in forecasting accuracy.

  • Analysis and Reporting (1 day per week): Analyze financial performance data and report findings back to the business. You will add value to large datasets by providing insightful analysis that supports decision-making.

  • Presenting Outputs (0.5 day per week): Present your analytical outputs to the S&OP team and key stakeholders across the business. Your ability to effectively communicate complex data will help influence key business decisions.

  • Budget Participation: Your forecasting work will play a crucial role in the production of budgets and strategic planning for the business, ensuring that financial goals are aligned with broader business objectives.

  • Ad-Hoc Analytical Work (0.5 day per week): Respond to business queries by analyzing large datasets and providing insights that drive business improvements. Your ability to quickly turn data into actionable insights will be critical.

Key Contacts and Stakeholders:
  • Commercial Team: Collaborate with the commercial team to understand trends, promotional events, and client forecasts.
  • Operational Planning Team: Work with the operational planning team to ensure accurate business and network planning.
  • Finance Team: Coordinate with the wider finance team for ongoing reporting and analytical support.
Person Specification:

Education and Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or relevant experience in business analysis, finance, or a related field.
  • Finance qualifications (CIMA, or part-qualified CIMA) or equivalent technical experience.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience working with large datasets and extracting insights to present in clear, concise reports.
  • Proficiency in developing reports and analysis in Excel, particularly for data extraction and reporting.
  • Ability to convert business requests into data analysis, identify key themes, and communicate insights effectively.

Desirable Experience:

  • Forecasting experience (training will be provided if needed).
  • Experience with report building and analysis in Tableau (training available).
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to challenge assumptions.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to write SQL queries (training available).
  • Experience with Tableau for data visualisation (training available).
  • Strong time management skills with experience using Outlook to prioritise tasks.
