The Role:As an Accounts / Client Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing their accounting needs, and providing business advice. You will work closely with clients to ensure compliance and offer financial insights that drive business success. This is a client-facing role that requires a combination of technical expertise and excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients across various industries, providing accounting, tax, and advisory services.
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements, management accounts, and VAT returns.
  • Offering proactive advice to clients on tax planning, business strategy, and financial processes.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as their main point of contact.
  • Ensuring all compliance deadlines are met for clients, including tax returns and statutory filings.
  • Reviewing and supervising the work of junior staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve clients’ financial processes and recommending value-added services.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and legislation.
  • Assisting in business development activities, including onboarding new clients and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
  • Collaborating with other departments to deliver a comprehensive service to clients.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or QBE) with at least 5 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Proven experience in managing a portfolio of clients and delivering a range of accounting and tax services.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements and management accounts.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
