We are currently recruiting for an Audit Manager to join a leading independent firm in Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and proactive professional to take on a senior role, leading and overseeing audit assignments while contributing to a positive team environment.
The Role:
As an Audit Manager, you will lead and manage audit assignments from planning through to completion, working closely with senior managers and directors. You will coordinate client engagements, manage audit tasks, and ensure that audits are completed on time and to the highest standard. Additionally, you will guide and support junior team members, providing feedback, mentoring, and fostering their professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Manage Audits: Ensure audits are completed on time, meet firm standards, and deliver high-quality results.
- Client Liaison: Act as the primary contact for clients during engagements, handling queries, and maintaining clear and consistent communication.
- Team Supervision: Supervise junior team members, reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
- Budget Management: Take the lead in preparing budgets, tracking progress, and addressing variances to ensure efficiency and profitability.
- Billing and Resource Management: Monitor time and resources effectively to ensure that engagements remain within budget.
- Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure adherence to auditing and accounting standards throughout all stages of the engagement.
- Team Collaboration: Foster a positive, collaborative work environment, and address minor personnel issues as they arise.
- Administrative Support: Assist with administrative and ad-hoc tasks to facilitate the smooth flow of projects.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:
- Qualified Accountant: ACCA or equivalent qualification, with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience.
- Audit Practice Experience: Proven experience in audit and accounts, with strong knowledge of regulatory and quality standards.
- Risk Awareness: Familiarity with risk assessment and control measures within the audit process.
- Client Relationship Management: Skilled in managing client relationships and effectively addressing client needs.
- Team Leadership: Ability to guide and support junior staff, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Knowledgeable in relevant accounting and auditing standards, including FRS and IFRS.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with CaseWare and CCH is beneficial, but not required.
