About the RoleA leading organisation in Liverpool is seeking a skilled and motivated Finance Business Partner to join their Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting the business with financial operations, management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare periodic, quarterly, and annual management accounts, including supporting schedules and variance analysis.
  • Lead the end-to-end budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Monitor revenue streams, cost trackers, and grant funding while working closely with key stakeholders.
  • Prepare detailed reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments with supporting justifications.
  • Analyze and review financial data, meeting with managers to challenge variances and drive efficiencies.
  • Improve financial processes and contribute to the overall development of the finance function.
  • Create reports and KPI data for internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Provide support on business cases, projects, and other ad hoc tasks as required.

About You:

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA), with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong technical skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel (e.g., index/match, VBA).
  • Sound knowledge of current accounting standards and practices.
  • Proven ability to interpret and present complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to improving processes and delivering meaningful insights.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or operational environment would be advantageous.
