- Manage finance team workloads, performance, and attendance to ensure effective delivery of financial services.
- Work closely with business unit and service managers to ensure operational efficiency and effective procedure implementation.
- Assist in preparing the Medium Term Financial Plan, corporate strategies, and annual revenue/capital budgets.
- Ensure timely and compliant closure of accounts, meeting statutory and professional requirements.
- Provide regular and ad-hoc budget control information and advice to budget holders at all levels.
- Develop accounting procedures and assist in enhancing financial and performance management systems.
- Participate in service management teams, working groups, and deputize for the Head of Finance as needed.
- Strategically develop finance service systems to adapt to changes.
- Provide financial management training for non-financial managers.
- Identify external funding opportunities, oversee bid preparation, and manage grant claims.
- Prepare financial appraisals and contribute to financial implications of service proposals.
- Ensure corporate financial system reflects external funded initiatives and project changes.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors to address any audit issues.
