Group Finance Manager

My client is a Local Authority in who are looking to appoint a talented Group Finance Manager on a Contract basis.

About the role:

Based in Merseyside (Hybrid/Remote):

This role will be responsible to the Director of Finance Business Partnering for the management of the finance team, including the allocation of work, monitoring of workloads, performance and attendance.

  • Salary: £500 - £650 per day, inside IR35.

  • Hours: 09:00 -17:30 Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the preparation of the Medium Term Financial Plan, Corporate Strategies and be responsible for the annual preparation of the revenue and capital budgets for the services within the Portfolio.
  2. Be responsible for the annual closure of accounts process.
  3. Liaise with External and Internal Audit to ensure that any audit issues relating to services supported by the Finance Team are addressed.

About you:You will have the following experience:

  • Recognised appropriate professional / accounting qualification (e.g., CCAB or equivalent).
  • Experience of preparing government financial returns and grant claims.
  • Experience of Local Government Finance with the ability to adapt to future developments.
