Disease Associate Solicitor

About the Role

Ouy client is seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join their Disease Litigation team based in Liverpool. The team handles a wide range of industrial disease cases for large insurer and corporate clients.

You will manage a caseload of litigated claims, including noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL), HAVS, upper limb disorders, and asbestos-related injuries. Additionally, you will support Partners and Principal Associates with complex cases, offering exposure to a diverse and rewarding workload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage litigated disease claims efficiently and independently.
  • Support senior colleagues on high-value, complex cases.
  • Draft strategies, pleadings, and reports.
  • Conduct legal research and investigations.
  • Liaise with clients, counsel, and other parties.
  • Attend conferences, court, and client meetings.
  • Contribute to business development and client relationship initiatives.
  • Meet financial, quality, and client service targets.
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience handling NIHL, HAVS/WRULD, and asbestos-related claims.
  • Litigation expertise with strong technical skills.
  • A paralegal, Legal Executive, or Solicitor qualification (up to three years' PQE preferred).
  • A proactive, client-focused, and solution-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Experience with business development is desirable but not essential.
