A fantastic opportunity for a level 3 qualified practitioner to join a professional, high quality childcare service within a state-of-the-art nursery in central Liverpool. This Ofsted rated 'Good' setting provides every child with a safe, secure, stimulating and engaging environment, ensuring that they thrive and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities for our Early Years Educator:

The successful candidate will deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 0-5 years, in line with EYFS and Ofsted requirements. Main duties will include the following;

  • To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors at all times
  • To deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum that enables children to make individual progress
  • To plan activities which ensure each child is working towards the Early Learning outcomes
  • To develop partnerships with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents to increase involvement in their child’s development
  • To be a key person, ensuring records are maintained sufficiently to inform of progress against the Early Learning goals, including observations, assessments, daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments
  • To understand and work to nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
  • To ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others
  • Helping to ensure the nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times
  • Undertaking designated officer roles as directed
  • Working together with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of children and families
  • Working in partnership with senior management to update and review the self-evaluation and improvement plan
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties as directed by the nursery lead, in accordance with the nursery aims and objectives

Essential Skills and Experience Required for our Early Years Educator:

  • Knowledge and proven experience of working with children age 0-5 years
  • Empathy and understanding of children under five years of age
  • Excellent working knowledge of the EYFS and current Ofsted statutory guidance
  • Knowledge and proven practical experience of implementing good quality learning opportunities
  • A commitment to quality in all areas, with a high level of motivation and enthusiasm
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
  • The ability to be innovative and creative
  • The ability to write reports and keep clear and accurate records, with administrative and basic IT skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Excellent organisational, motivational and negotiation skills
  • Reliable, flexible and able
  • A calm and caring nature
  • A creative thinker with a good sense of humour
  • Able to commit with the ability to perform under stress
  • Able to make decisions and be accountable with the ability to work at all levels
  • A level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification is required for this role
  • Paediatric first aid

Schedule: 4 days per week between Monday and Friday
