Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for an ICT Test & Release Manager to join Merseyside Police at their Rose Hill HQ on a temporary basis.

This would be a temporary contract until February 2026. You would be working Monday - Friday, 36.5 hours a week. It is an Office Based position. The day rate is £400 per day.

PLEASE NOTE, DUE TO POLICE CRITERIA YOU MUST HAVE LIVED IN THE UK FOR AT LEAST THE LAST 5 YEARS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE. ANYTHING LESS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

The role: To be responsible for planning, preparing, executing and reporting of regression tests, both manual and automated, for the force's Core IT Systems, primarily its evergreen cloud products including but not limited to its ERP platform of Oracle HCM/ERP/ECP.

To own the Test & Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases to the Force's IT systems in agreement with the system owner and the appropriate parts of the ICT department.

To lead the effort of defining the IT strategic direction for release management tools for IT to ensure the process requirements of release management are built into future projects and that successful releases can be monitored and measured to agreed SLA's.

Qualifications:

  • The post holder should be educated to Degree Level (Level 6 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework) or with equivalent substantial experience in either a Business or IT environment
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) to Foundation Level minimum plus ITIL service management qualification preferred or willingness to complete necessary training to gain this qualification

Substantial experience of:

  • Undertaking and co-ordinating activities in support of test and release lifecycle
  • Working with systems which interface with others or have multiple modules and the business/functional issues this can bring.
  • System Acceptance Testing (SAT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  • Working within a formal change management process.
  • Managing and coordinating testing scripts, results, analysis, defect management, supplier management and communication
  • Working within the ITIL framework.
