The MSP has provided IT services to schools for over 10 years, and they are known for providing a high level of service, and for their knowledge of the education sector and the technologies within it. The team there has grown over the last 10 years and the latest role they are looking to recruit is an IT Field Engineer to report to the IT Service Manager on a permanent basis. Your new roleJoining the IT team at the provider, you will be responsible for providing proactive support to schools around the Sefton area, based on site in schools on a daily basis and working closely with end users (pupils and staff). As a field engineer, you will also be supported by the wider IT team at the head office, who will support you with more technical second and third line queries, to ensure that IT requests are resolved efficiently. You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining network and wireless infrastructure, VMware, Microsoft Server & Desktop Operating Systems, Active Directory and maintaining cloud solutions such as Azure & Office 365. As you will be working in multiple schools, you will work with various operating systems, servers and technologies which are unique to the education sector, therefore giving you the opportunity to further develop your skills and knowledge. What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful in securing this position, you will have experience of providing IT support in a face-to-face environment, ideally with education sector experience or having previously worked for an MSP, therefore understanding the importance of providing a high level of support to customers. A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential, with mileage being paid.
