ML51- Senior Principal Designer / CDM ConsultantSalary: £50,000- £55,000Location: Liverpool.Overview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Principal Designer / CDM Consultant on behalf of one of our clients.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the project team including the client and designers to deliver Principal Designer services ensuring compliance with CDM regulations
  • Manage the pre-construction phase, including preparation and collation of pre-construction information, lead CDM Workshops and contribute to the development of design safety strategies for construction, end use and future maintenance activities
  • Liaise with various stakeholders on projects client, principal contractor, architect, design team and keep them updated in relation to H&S/ CDM matters
  • Carry out site inspections/compliance audits Prepare Health and Safety files and review operation and maintenance manuals
  • Develop client relationships and build new ones
  • Under supervision the role includes the ability to contribute to and develop bid submissions and fee proposals
  • You will be aware of new work opportunities and potential new clients, as well as maintenance of existing clients
  • You will need to work closely with both external clients and internal Partners

Skills and qualifications:

  • Extensive experience of overseeing the design risk management process including running CDM workshops
  • Skillset to challenge designers to ensure safe methods of construction are established during the pre-construction phase
  • participation in the access and maintenance process including plant replacement strategies
  • An understanding and experience of the design and construction process and the principles of risk reduction
  • In depth knowledge of the CDM regulations and associated legislation
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or similar technical or professional qualification
  • Be an Associate member of the Association for Project Safety or/and technical membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)

Salary: £50,000- £55,000Location: Liverpool.
