Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Vehicle NVH Engineer to play a crucial role in refining and enhancing vehicles. As part of the NVH Attributes Refinement Group, you will contribute to the detection, investigation, and resolution of Squeak & Rattle (S&R) and Water & Air Ingress concerns across vehicle systems and components.

This role spans the full product lifecycle—from concept through to post-launch support—requiring a hands-on approach to problem-solving. As a Senior Vehicle NVH Engineer, you will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Suppliers, using structured methodologies such as 8D problem-solving to define issues and drive effective resolutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead problem definition and root cause analysis for Squeak & Rattle, Body Sealing, and Water Ingress issues.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Suppliers to ensure robust issue resolution.
  • Conduct testing, detection, and resolution activities throughout the vehicle development cycle.
  • Follow structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Root Cause Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, PDCA) to drive improvements.
  • Analyse large datasets to identify trends and determine next steps using MS Office and relevant analytical tools.
  • Plan and prioritise work effectively, operating in two-week sprints to deliver against key objectives.
  • Work independently and within cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to key stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements, including risk assessments.
  • Travel between Halewood and the Midlands as required (full UK driving licence essential).

Skills Required:

  • Degree in Automotive/Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong problem-solving expertise (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, FTA, PDCA).
  • Ability to plan and organise detailed activities to achieve project outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience in complex problem resolution.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to promote issues through investigation phases.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications for data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, including Trim & Final, BIW, and sealing systems.

Experience Required:

  • Proven ability to lead large projects and resolve complex NVH-related issues.
  • Experience working in vehicle manufacturing, new model launch, or engineering operations.
  • Knowledge of Squeak & Rattle and Water Ingress prevention techniques.
  • Strong understanding of quality tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, FTA, PDCA, 5Y).
  • Experience working with Tableau, AIMs, IQM, Flags, IDS, TGW, and Agile methodologies (JIRA).
  • Practical experience in CAD, Digi-buck, and material compatibility.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities efficiently.

Experience Preferred:

  • Automotive Engineering / Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Previous experience in NVH strategy development and implementation.
  • Hands-on experience in digital modelling and component analysis.
  • Strong leadership skills to drive cross-functional teamwork.

Additional Information:

  • Hybrid working (up to 1 day remote per week).
  • Full UK driving licence required.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Vehicle NVH Engineer to make a significant impact on the refinement of industry-leading vehicles. If you have the expertise and passion for NVH development, we’d love to hear from you.
