Secondary School Tutor (Maths, English, Science)

Location: Rochdale (various locations including learner's home, school premises, or public settings like libraries)Pay Rate: £25-£28 per hour (PAYE)Hours: Flexible (1 to 15 hours per week)

We are seeking a dedicated Tutor to deliver high-quality tuition in Maths, English, or Science to secondary school learners. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, disengaged learners, and those not attending mainstream education.

The role offers flexibility, with sessions that can take place within or outside school hours at various locations around the Rochdale area. Tutors will be responsible for tailoring lessons to individual learner needs, fostering engagement, and building confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored tuition in Maths, English, or Science.
  • Adapt teaching methods for learners with SEN, SEMH, and disengaged learners.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships to encourage progress.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide feedback.
  • Ensure sessions align with the UK curriculum and KCSIE policy.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with SEN, SEMH, and disengaged learners.
  • Knowledge of the UK curriculum in the core subjects.
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of KCSIE policy and safeguarding practices.
