Job Title: Yard Operative
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £11.71 per hour plus regular overtime
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 07.30am – 4:30pm plus regular overtime (Saturday mornings 08.00am – 12.30pm paid at time and a half).
Chestnut Building Centres are a family-owned independent Builders Merchant supplying a wide range of quality products at competitive prices to both trade and the public.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Yard Operative to join our team in Wavertree, Liverpool.
Responsibilities – Yard Operative:
- The Yard Operative will assist in the running of a busy builder’s yard
- Serve customers quickly and efficiently
- Collate orders for delivery
- Receive and check incoming deliveries
- Ensure paperwork is accurate
- Assist with regular stock takes
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and safety within the working environment
- Undertake any reasonable task from time to time at the Branch Manager’s request as may be deemed appropriate within the scope of the post
Requirements – Yard Operative:
- You must have a Forklift Licence
- An understanding of general building, roofing and timber materials
- Flexible ‘can-do’ attitude
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Able to work effectively in a team or alone under own initiative
- Strong communication skills
- Experience cutting timber to size desirable but not essential.
