About the Role:A growing contractor specializing in mechanical, electrical, and construction services across public and private sectors is looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, improving health and safety performance, and fostering a positive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day health and safety management across projects, contracts, and internal operations.
  • Provide training and mentorship to employees on safety practices and compliance.
  • Work closely with senior management to improve quality, compliance, and workplace safety.
  • Ensure all staff and contractors are properly trained and compliant with current legislation.
  • Develop and manage Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and Construction Phase Plans (CPPs).
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and investigations on health and safety matters.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and accreditations, including ISO, CHAS, and Safe-Contractor.
  • Attend client meetings and pre-start meetings as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience in health and safety management, preferably in construction.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
