Health & Safety Manager

About the Role:A growing contractor specializing in mechanical, electrical, and construction services across public and private sectors is looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, improving health and safety performance, and fostering a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day health and safety management across projects, contracts, and internal operations.
- Provide training and mentorship to employees on safety practices and compliance.
- Work closely with senior management to improve quality, compliance, and workplace safety.
- Ensure all staff and contractors are properly trained and compliant with current legislation.
- Develop and manage Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and Construction Phase Plans (CPPs).
- Conduct inspections, audits, and investigations on health and safety matters.
- Maintain up-to-date records and accreditations, including ISO, CHAS, and Safe-Contractor.
- Attend client meetings and pre-start meetings as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience in health and safety management, preferably in construction.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Strong knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act and relevant legislation.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and promote a safety-first culture.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
