Hays Health & Safety are excited to be working with an established housing provider based in Liverpool in their search for an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join their dynamic team.You will have extensive experience within the construction industry, ideally housebuilding, and a track record of managing, developing and implementing health, safety, and environmental systems.You will hold a Chartered IOSH membership (CMIOSH) or be working towards it with an established environmental qualification and ideally be lead auditor qualified. Your new roleReporting to the Head of HS&E, you will:

  • Develop and deliver the HS&E Policy ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and CDM regulations.
  • Ensure HS&E information is provided to all key stakeholders, providing training to those who require support.
  • Generate strong working relationships with senior management providing regular advice on HS&E matters.
  • Ensure management systems & processes are up-to-date and of the required quality to meet ISO accreditation standards.
  • Effectively manage the HS&E team.
  • Inform key stakeholders of relevant changes in legislation.
  • Promote and develop a positive health and safety culture through positive reinforcement and behavioral-based safety.

What you need to succeedTo succeed, you will be driven to improve a HSE team via behaviourally based management systems and be able to communicate achievements and experience with them.You will hold a high level of self-motivation and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.You will ideally have a degree in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management or a related field and have experience of implementing best practices within a construction setting.
