The School and Role

This large, two-form entry primary school in Toxteth, Liverpool, are looking to appoint a nurturing and passionate Teaching Assistant to support a child in an Early Years setting.  The role will be part-time, working Mon-Fri, 08:30am-1pm and will start immediately, until the end of the academic year, with a strong potential of becoming permanent should the candidate be the right fit for the child.  The child has behavioural issues, so strong behaviour management skills are required from the successful candidate.  The school are looking for a strong teaching assistant with experience of working within a SEND environment.  Successful candidates will find themselves in a warm, welcoming environment in a primary school that was graded “Good” in their previous Ofsted report. Across the setting, enthusiastic and creative teaching staff are supported by a strong senior leadership team, who are focused on maintaining a positive atmosphere for children and practitioners alike.  

Requirements

The desired Teaching Assistant will have;

-          Experience of working with primary school aged children

-          Experience working with children with a SEND background/on a 1-1 basis

-          An ability to work as part of a team

-          Have, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
