Role Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to join the KS1 team of the school. This full-time position requires an individual with a passion for working with young children and a commitment to making a positive impact on their lives. As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students with ASD, helping them to achieve their full potential.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Individual Support: Provide tailored support to students with ASD, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet their unique needs.

  • Classroom Assistance: Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons, ensuring that all students are included and able to participate fully.

  • Behaviour Management: Implement and support behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviours and a conducive learning environment.

  • Personal Development: Support the social and emotional development of students with ASD, fostering independence, confidence, and self-esteem.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create and maintain an inclusive and supportive educational environment.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student's progress and achievements, providing regular updates to teachers and parents.

  • Training & Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.



Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with ASD, particularly in a school setting.

  • Education: Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field.

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
