Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our SEND provision team within the primary school. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with special educational needs and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities for students with SEND.

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students, both in and out of the classroom.

  • Support the classroom teacher in managing the learning environment and implementing individual education plans (IEPs).

  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages student participation and confidence.

  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs of students as required.

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of SEND strategies within the school.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with children with SEND is essential.

  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Team Teach Trained desirable.
