Year 2 1:1 TAYour new companyHays Recruitment are working in partnership with a primary school in North Liverpool that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking for a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support a student in year 2 on a 1:1 basis. This is a long-term role that will last until the end of the academic year with a chance to be extended next academic year. Your new roleIn your new role as a 1:1 teaching assistant you will be supporting a year 2 student on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day. You will be this childs main point of contact, meeting them at the school gate and walking them back to their parents/guardians at the end of the school day. You will support them with 1:1 and booster sessions in core subjects as required, ensure that learning material is inclusive and accessible for them, and effectively manage their behaviours by using de-escalation, distraction and taking them out of the classroom as required as they can present behaviours that challenge. You will promote their engagement during lessons by building a strong constructive relationship with them and liaising with the SENCO and class teacher on their progress. What you'll need to succeedTo be successful with your application you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as referenceable experience supporting children and young people, as well as:

  • An NVQ Levl 2 or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
  • Previous experience managing challenging behaviours
