I'm currently working with a household name based in South Liverpool, one of the UKs leading logistics businesses as they look to hire a Systems Administrator. They're looking to grow an existing team and would like this person to work on site 2 days per week.Having just spoken with the team leader he's explained that they're fairly early in their journey into containerisation, experience with Kubernetes or a similar product would be beneficial. They'd ideally like someone with experience of working at OS level, this role would lend itself well to a Sysadmin (Unix or Linux) who was looking to transition into a more DevOps focused role. Someone who had good experience of automation would be great.The role has an on call rota, you can expect to be on call for 1 week in 4. There hasn't been a call since November and that was because a package was incorrectly installed and was rectified correctly. The last time they had a proper fault was over 18 months ago because of the automation work they've done. You can expect to earn somewhere in the region of £6k - £8k per year for being on call. The base salary for the role is £60k.
