An exciting position for a Lead Industrial Engineer has just opened at a leading automotive manufacturer in Halewood. This is a 6 month+ contract position paying up to £55k per annum. The successful candidate can expect 40 hours a week, working 07:30 til 16:00 Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure programmes and model years achieve the required manpower targets and have successful launches, through the deployment of industrial engineering tools and techniques.
  • Drive the optimisation of utilisation & BMV for all new models/model year programmes.
  • Lead the monitoring of Hours per Unit/Hours per Car
  • Present and advise in senior forums as to the most efficient solutions
  • Lead the development of manufacturing best practice (bench marking) productivity ideas and tools ensuring that these are incorporated into the programme.
  • Design for assembly analysis through virtual programme phases.
  • Work with Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering to develop processes and facilities to ensure that the most efficient product and processes are developed and delivered at Job1.
  • To be responsible for Line balance generation.
  • Manage assignment allocation in conjunction with production plant to ensure production targets are met.
  • Assist and support Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering teams to develop processes and facilities to ensure that the most efficient product and processes are developed and delivered at Job1.
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:
Previous experience of working in an Industrial Engineering role, ideally gained in the Automotive Industry.
Experience of using engineering tools and techniques to achieve programme targets.
Previous experience of team supervision and management.
Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
Desirable:
Knowledge of Harbour reporting methodology.
Strong analytical background, project management and delivery skills.
Strong IT skills, particularly with Excel, 3DExperience.
