Mechanical Fitter - Pharma - MC268924

Mechanical Fitter required for a manufacturer for the pharmaceutical industry based in Liverpool.

The succesful candidate will work on projects from mechanical handover through to completion of build (including installations at client sites). As part of the Mechanical Assembly team, you will be responsible for the assembly and fitting of mechanical components for bespoke process equipment. Including pressure vessels and rotating equipment e.g. agitators, gearboxes, motors coupled with knowledge / experience in hydraulic systems.

Mechanical Fitter - Pharma Position Overview

  • Control and ownership of mechanical build documentation.
  • Mechanical component assembly and fitting in-line with tight tolerances, such as limits and fits, shaft clearances, etc.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-skilled team and alongside Electrical / Control engineers to ensure completion of the equipment build.
  • Liaise with engineering in the resolution of problems relating to fit, function or design.
  • Inspection of Mechanical parts, Main Fabrications and Pressure Vessels at supplier facilities.
  • Work in a safe manner, ensuring H&S requirements are met.
  • Reporting of non-conformances via the quality systems in place.
  • Support the Production team in daily activities and provide regular contract updates.
  • Support in off-site installations at customer sites.

Mechanical Fitter - Pharma Position Requirements

  • Time served mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience within a similar role
  • Pressure vessel testing experience (desirable)
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability read and understand assembly drawings

Mechanical Fitter - Pharma Position Remuneration

Salary dependent on experience £35,000-£42,000 dependent on experience (Plenty of Overtime available with the opportunity to earn closer to £45k-£50k+)

4 day week (Monday to Thursday)

  • Monday-Wednesday 07:30-17:30+Thursday 07:30-17:00

Income protection & EAP (doctors app, mental health support & general wellbeing) 25 days plus BH (we do operate a Christmas shutdown that uses 3 of these days) 4% Employer & 4% employee - Legal & General- Death in Service (x4)
