We are currently looking for a Liability Claims Handler to join our Liverpool office, you will be able to demonstrate your claims handling skills by proactively managing and tracking several claims.

We are seeking a confident communicator who will be required to resolve liability in a timely manner to maximise efficiency. Using your time effectively, the Liability Claims Handler will have the ability to investigate, identify and raise any fraud concerns whilst also being able to meet deadlines.

Role: Liability Claims Handler (non report)

Location:  Liverpool, with hybrid working opportunity upon successfully passing probation

Working hours:  Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm, 37.5 hours per week

Salary:  A basic, starting salary of £24,255 with earning progression up to £29,590, plus up to an additional £2,000 performance related bonus per annum, once established within your role.    

What you will be doing:

  • To manage a small portfolio of TBE claims as decisively and efficiently as possible
  • High volume of outbound calls and proactive touches on claims, liaising with all parties involved to resolve liability as quickly as possible
  • Each claim will be kept for a maximum of 14 days (10 working days) at which point the claim will be re-allocated to the relevant team if liability cannot be established
  • Once liability is established and providing there is a genuine opportunity, referrals will be made to other departments to enhance further revenue streams, i.e. Intervention and Non-Fault
  • Validate all claims for indemnity and fraud concernsIdentify all heads of claim at the earliest opportunity to mitigate if possible and reduce claims leakage
  • Investigate liability proactively, searching for all available evidence, contacting all parties and representatives involved to come to a swift liability decision
  • Solid desktop investigations made using all available sources such as Google Maps, GB Trace, Esendex and What’s App
  • Managing claims in line with the reserving philosophy and applying a bold approach when considering closures
  • Proactive diary management to monitor and progress each claim

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous motor claims handling skills and solid desktop investigations would be desirable, however not essential
  • A professional, confident telephone manner alongside a strong customer service background is essential
  • A persuasive, strong and confident communicator, both written and verbally 
  • Motivated self-starter
