We are looking for a Claims Handler Apprentice to join our energetic First Response Unit who has a positive and proactive approach and is excited by a challenge.

The salary starts at £17,270 per annum, with the ability to increase to £24,255 OTE after the apprenticeship with the potential to earn a bonus up to £4,200 once established in your role.

Job Title: Claims Handler Apprentice

Location: Liverpool City Centre

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm

As a First Response Handler, you will be the first point of contact for our customers. You will record the information needed to assess a client’s claim, including information relating to replacement vehicles or other specialist requirements. You will assess the claim and liaise with colleagues and representatives from external organisations in order to process it. You will monitor the claims process to ensure that a decision is made within the agreed timescales and manage client interactions to ensure they receive a professional service and address any concerns or complaints they may have.

We want a Claims Handler who is:

  • Focused on providing outstanding customer service by asking questions and listening to client responses, by resolving customer queries quickly and by providing the right solution, first time.
  • A confident communicator who has good sales, negotiation and persuasion skills and can manage challenging conversations.
  • Empathic, respectful, and able to connect with people.
  • Capable of thinking on their feet, solving problems and making fast, informed decisions.
  • A team player who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and understands the importance of their role and the role of others in their team.
  • Adept at keeping their product knowledge up to date.
  • Able to use a range of software packages.
  • Organised, able to prioritise and multitask with a fast-paced environment and has a strong attention to detail.
  • Trustworthy and reliable.

Acorn Insurance Apprenticeship Programme

The Acorn Apprenticeship Programme is designed to give you the knowledge, skills, and behaviours you will need to accelerate your career progression, whilst you earn a competitive salary and gain practical experience.

During the apprenticeship, you will:

  • Work with a Training and Development Coach to develop a professional development plan that is personalised to your needs.
  • Attend monthly, face-to-face, or online Masterclasses on topics such problem solving, customer service and delivering results.
  • Receive 1:1 support from Coaches who have significant experience of being a customer services adviser within the financial sector.
  • Get six-hours of study time, away from your desk, per week.
  • Be able to attend workshops and guest speaker seminars.
