Set in beautiful gardens near to Formby town centre, close to the nature reserve and the coast Freshfields Nursing home provides excellent care for individuals with complex needs, physical and mental disabilities. Our care is person focussed with each individuals needs being catered for individually so that they can lead a happy and fulfilling life doing the things they enjoys and accessing a wide range of activities. With 31 bedrooms, 20 of which have en-suite facilities, all on ground level Freshfields is surrounded by extensive gardens with every room having a garden aspect and the majority having direct access to the gardens meaning all our residents can enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Information about the Role:
Working as a Kitchen Assistant at Freshfields your duties will include the following:
路 Properly cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene.
路 Washing and appropriately storing all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes.
路 Assisting the Cook/Chef with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping food.
路 Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors as well as wiping down kitchen walls.
路 Assisting with the unloading of delivered food supplies.
路 Organizing and correctly storing food supplies.
路 Promptly transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to the kitchen as per the Cook/Chef鈥檚 instructions.
路 Stirring and heating soups and sauces as well as preparing hot beverages
Necessary Experience or Qualifications:
路 Someone who has a real passion for Cooking.
路 Ideally 6-months experience of working as a Kitchen Assistant.
路 Ability to work on shift/rota pattern.
路 Have the right to the work in the UK.
路 Working knowledge of health and safety standards in their industry.
路 Ability to work well under pressure.
